People Are Saved by Hearing and Speaking Words

Men and women are saved by hearing and speaking words.

Romans 10:8-10
8. But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, [even] in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe inthine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

We live in a word created and word controlled environment.

II Corinthians 4:13 Paul tells us:
We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak

Even when that young David came to bring groceries to his siblings, and those soldiers were all sitting there in their camp watching "televison". Watching that Goliath "tell his vision".

David, as it turned out, he spoke no less than FIVE TIMES what was going to happen and what he would be doing to Goliath, and it put anger inside the man. David did EXACTLY what he declared.

II Corinthians 4:17-18
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding [and] eternal weight of glory;
18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen [are] temporal; but the things which are not seen [are] eternal.

Calling things that are not as though they are.
That's what Jesus did all during His ministry.

I heard a man once say that he told God that he felt like he was lying speaking His Word for himself.
The Lord spoke to him...."Son, how could you lie saying what I say?"

Some people think that they'll just start confessing what God says is true, that they'll have a harvest in just a few days...but not so. If I go out back and plant a cucumber seed, it will not produce anything for my table until after it germinates, brings on the leaf, stalk, and bloom and the fruit of it to grow...THEN it will have something ready for my table.

It's got to grow on the inside of us, and we've got to stand true to what God's said and what we produce from our mouth.
How long will it take. Who cares...just do it until you have a harvest.

Now that's not to say that the Spirit of God cannot or will not bring signs and wonders and will not bring miracles. I've seen that in my life, and I THANK GOD FOR THEM...but that is not what I'm talking about here.

Romans 10 says the Word is nigh you even in our mouth...it's as close as getting into your mouth and speaking it. When I'm confessing the Word, I'm sowing the Word.
It's the SAME WORD OF FAITH THAT WE ALL SPOKE WHEN WE CAME INTO THE KINGDOM OF GOD.
It's the same spiritual principle. Believing it in our hearts and speaking it with our mouths.

ALL things are subject to change when we believe and stand on God's Word.

Men and women are saved, brought out of the kingdom of darkness and brought into the Kingdom of Light and LIFE..... by hearing and speaking words.

Hallelujah!!!

Fully Persuaded

Romans 4:21
And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

I've been pondering this Scripture of late.

While I've posted different articles on the power of words, and the confession of our faith in God's Word, I see that this Scripture has a lot to do with our confession. I've seen some folk not allow God's Word to do it's work in their lives...to become FULLY PERSUADED. Sometime people that have heard the preaching of faith and confession, take it and run without it being birthed into a place of them being FULLY PERSUADED....and in turn, that may put them into compromising situations.

Sometimes, when confessing God's Word to myself, in the beginning I may not feel like it's so, but I BELIEVE it because I understand the integrity of God's Word.

While I continue to confess it/decree it over whatever I'm believing for, that Word GROWS on the inside of me to the point that it's more real to me than the circumstances I am facing.

It's not long before I am fully persuaded that what God has to say about it, is Bigger than the situation I'm facing. At that time it's birthed into my own spirit...for keeps....and it's after that when I see it manifested into my life or whatever I'm standing on God's Word for.

Now it MAY be a while between the time it's birthed inside of me before I've seen it manifested, so my eyes can see it, but I'm not letting go of what has been birthed inside of me. When God's Word explodes on the inside of us, is when we know for certainty that it's ours, and it's ON IT'S WAY TO US. That's where we obtain the promises of God with patience. In the mean time, we just keep watering our faith continuing to decree God's Word, offering praise and thanksgiving for it, even before it arrives to us, not allowing the words of our mouth to destroy what is already on it's way, with unbelief.

Luke 8:15 tells us:
But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep [it], and bring forth fruit with patience.

Romans 8:25 says:
But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Father God, I ask YOU to help us all to become fully persuaded in the truths of Your Word. Help us to not only lay hold of your promises but to allow patience to have her perfect work in our lives. In Jesus' Name.

From Couch Potatoes to Conquerors

Eight Steps to Keeping Your Spirit in Shape.

It's easy to get lazy about spiritual things. Have you ever noticed that? It's easy to get so preoccupied with the day-to-day business of life that you let the truths you've received from God slip away.

You don't have to jump into some kind of major sin to lose ground spiritually. You don't even have to get rebellious. All you have to do is nothing!

It's easy. It is also dangerous.

The truth is, it's usually not the great revelations you haven't heard yet that are causing you to be defeated in certain areas of your life. It's failing to live by the things you know.

If you want to live in victory, you have to keep yourself spiritually active. You have to keep feeding your spirit with the Word of God. You have to continually be filled with the Holy Spirit.

that's right, continually filled. It's not enough to get baptized in the Holy Ghost once and expect that one experience to keep you on fire for Jesus the rest of your life. That's why in Ephesians 5:18, the Apostle Paul says, "Be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit." In the Greek, that phrase says literally "be being filled with the Holy Spirit."

Be filled. Keep yourself overflowing. Sounds like a tall order, doesn't it?

It is, but in the book of II Timothy, Paul tells us how we can accomplish it. He outlines some very important steps that will keep us moving forward in the overcoming power of God.

1. Be Strong in grace.
First of all, Paul instructs us to "be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus" (II Timothy 2:1). What is grace what does it do? Titus 2:11-12 tells us, "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness, and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world."

Grace teaches us. It teaches us how to live in freedom in this world.

Whenever the Spirit of God corrects you, whenever He points out a mistake you're making or speaks to your about something you're doing that is grieving Him, don't be mad. Be glad! It's the grace of God teaching you something to make your life better.

Grow strong in that grace by spending time every day in prayer. Live each day expecting the Spirit of God to counsel and instruct you about the things in your life - big and small.

Expect to hear from Him. If you don't, you won't be listening for Him. And if you're not listening for Him you're not likely to hear Him because He speaks in a still, small voice. They're not overwhelming words. If you don't have a spiritual ear tuned to heaven, you'll miss them.

So, every morning of your life spend time praying in the spirit, talking to the Father and reminding yourself the Holy Ghost is inside you, constantly teaching and guiding you. Become strong in the grace of God.

2. Endure hardness.
Next, Paul said, "Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ" (II Timothy 2:3). In other words, get tough.

Tests and trials will come your way in this life. Don't falter and quit when they do. Don't put down your shield of faith.

Instead, when the enemy puts pressure on you, get more aggressive with your faith than ever. Do more - not less. Spend more time in prayer, more time in the Word. Speak twice as many words of victory!

When hardship comes, endure it. Stand on your faith. And refuse to let the devil talk you out of believing God's Word.

3. Don't get entangled.
"No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who has chosen him to be a soldier" (II Timothy 2:4).

You and I have been called to live the high life in Christ Jesus, not to be tied down to this natural realm. But all too often we allow ourselves to become entangled in the temporary affairs of this world instead. We allow those entanglements to drag us into defeat.

Don't let that happen to you. Simplify your life, If you don't have time for God, make time. Don't let your career your family or anything else keep you from going on with God.

One thing I can promise you: Every part of your life will be more blessed if you take time to listen to God. There is nothing you can do that is better than hearing from heaven.

Before I consider taking on any new activity, I always ask myself, "Can I afford it?" Not can I afford it financially, but can I afford it spiritually? Can I give time to this activity and still keep my priority time with God? If not, I can't afford it.

There's only one thing you absolutely can't afford to do without - and that's your time spent in prayer and in the Word of God. It is your very life. It is where your victory lies. You may forget that, but satan never does. he'll constantly be sending time-stealer's your way. So be alert and don't get entangled in them. Make the time you spend with God your first priority every day.

4. Remember the Resurrection.
"Constantly keep in mind Jesus Christ, the Messiah, (as) risen from the dead...." (II Timothy 2:8, The Amplified Bible).

When the devil starts telling you you're defeated, turn the tables on him and say, "You've got that wrong, devil. I'm not defeated, you're defeated. My faith is in the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ."

satan can't whip you if you keep in mind Christ Jesus is risen from the dead. So, never let yourself lose sight of Him. Continually remind yourself that the power satan couldn't keep in the grave is the very power that is operating inside you right now. If you'll do that, the devil will never get the best of you.

5 Study the Word.
"Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (II Timothy 2:15).

Never quit studying God's Word. Whenever you stop growing in spiritual revelation, you begin to lose what you've already received. It dwindles away on the inside of you.

Have you ever noticed that some people seem to live on a spiritual roller coaster? One day they're on top of the world, excited about the Word, and full of faith...the next day they're in a valley of discouragement. Don't be like that. Instead, get up on the crest of the wave and stay there all the time.

Continual study of the Word of God will enable you to do that. It will keep you steady and consistent in your walk with God because it will constantly feed your faith and keep you strong.

6. Avoid arguments.
"Avoid all empty (vain, useless, idle) talk, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness" (II Timothy 2:16, The Amplified Bible).

Here Paul specifically cites the case of two men arguing over the Resurrection. Those kinds of useless arguments actually undermine faith and Paul warns us to stay away from them.

Don't get into conflicts with other believers over doctrine. Instead, fellowship with them over the fact Jesus Christ was raised from the dead and is Lord of the universe. If you can't agree on anything else, rejoice in that.

Don't argue with people. Just love them.

7. Fellowship with the faithful.
"Shun youthful lusts and flee from the, and aim at and pursue righteousness...faith, love (and) peace...in fellowship with all who call upon the Lord out of a pure heart" (II Timothy 2:22 The Amplified Bible).

If you want to live in victory, you need to fellowship with people who know God. Don't try to fellowship with the world and live like an overcomer. It won't work.

We get strength from one another. If you want to grow strong, find someone who is stronger in the Lord than you are and fellowship with them. They'll bring you up.

On the other hand, if you fellowship with people who don't live for God and trust His Word, they'll bring you down. Don't go to a church, for example, where people tell you healing has passed away and then triy to live in divine health. You can't do it.

Listen to me now. Your very life depends on whom you fellowship with and where you go to church. Fellowship with people who are strong and walk in power, who preach God's Word and get results when they pray. You'll end up on a much higher plane.

8. Keep on keeping on.
"But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them" (II Timothy 3:14).

The only way the devil can actually defeat you is by convincing you to quit. So, don't let him do it.

When satan comes to knock you down and steal your hope and faith in the Word of God, don't let them go. Hang on. Continue to do the things you know to do. Keep on keeping on!

Remember this. All it takes to lose your grip on the power of God is to get lazy in spiritual things. You don't have to do anything dramatic - all you have to do is nothing.

So beware of taking it easy in the days ahead. Now is not the time to be a spiritual couch potato. It's time to move onward and upward in the overcoming power of God!

Content and Context of God's Word

Faith is important, can't please God without it.
Sometimes people believe with all their heart but don't have an ounce of Bible faith.
Sometimes people will release their faith in what happened to someone else.
If God did it for brother so and so he'll do it for me.
BUT...did you give like he did, did you pray like he did, did you develop your confession and faith of the Word like he did?

It has to be Bible faith, comes from and based on the authority of the Word of God. Not someone else's testimony.

So the easiest cop out is to blame God.

In this study, they'd been talking about chucking out stones out of our heart to get the ground of our hearts prepared to receive the Word.

Romans 10:17
Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God.

It's primarily speaking about the preached word. That's why it's so important to be in a church that will build our faith and teach these principles.
We need to have books and tapes and tools and internet to flow where God's revealing of Himself and His will for us to grow and to abound is so important, to all of us.

Understanding the intent of these verses are so important.

Romans 8:26

Likewise the spirit help our weakness for we know not what we should pray as we ought but the spirit himself makes intercession for us.

The apostle Paul didn't believe that all things work for good, and he penned the book. The apostle Paul said that he would have come to the church at Thessolonica said that he would have come to them once again but satan had hindered him. Why didn't he say that all things work together for the good.... Paul didn't even believe what people do today, he knew the work of the devil.

Romans 8:27
And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what [is] the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to [the will of] God. (the will of is placed in there by translators, so it reads)

And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to God.

Jesus is our intercessor at the right hand of the father for us.
We can't pray like God will pray in our carnal mind. He's in heaven, interceding through the Holy Spirit through us. We cannot pray like God would - but the Holy Spirit knows how to. That's what we yield ourselves to when we pray in the Spirit, in tongues.

Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

WHAT ALL THINGS is he talking about? All the things that the Jesus, our intercessor, prayed through the Spirit of God through US in the Holy Spirit in tongues for the situation, He prayed about it, through us the Way God would pray about it. He said that all things would work together for good after God has prayed about it through His Spirit through us.

This is not talking about the curse, the devil and all that.
Some folk say that a loving God allowed their child to be killed in a car wreck BUT I have to say that all things work together for good....NO IT DOESN'T

The text and intent of this - keeping it in context is that Jesus the intercessor praying through the Holy Spirit praying THROUGH US praying the prayer God would pray.
THAT IS WHAT WILL WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO US WHO LOVE GOD AND ARE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE.

HELLELUJAH!!! GLORY TO GOD!!!

It steals peoples faith, because they've not been taught that way...
It's like when the boy saw a firetruck and wanted his dad to take him to follow it and after several times of following a fire engine, the boy asked his dad why it was that this truck went all around town starting fires.

That is what we've often seen God to be doing because of bad teaching, and when He's finally invited in on the scene of our lives to bring solutions.

YES, after a bad situation, we CAN pray in the Holy Spirit and HE CAN work what is there for good, if we pray....but that's after the mess the devil has moved in on and created. Not God.

It's what we pray about in the Spirit that causes things to work together for good to us who love God and are called according to His purpose.

Religion has painted a picture of like God is doing His best to bring bad stuff on people to try and teach them something. It's so far from God's way of doing things.
All the time He sent the Holy Spirit to teach us, He doesn't send the devil to teach us anything.

We have got to compare what something says on one page there what the Word says with the rest of the Bible. If it's out of line with the rest of the Bible we're misunderstanding what it says.

If we are not studying God's Word we're not going to be taught by it, will we?

All last week there was a lot of good teaching that is foundational to what Mr. Capps is teaching this week also.

I tell you, when I heard this lesson, I just about jumped out of my chair. I wanted to go over it several times to get it down into my own spirit, and to check it out in God's Word. This lesson has set me FREE from religious teaching I've received for many years....and the excuse we've all made in not understanding what is going on and blaming God for allowing such and such. NOPE, not any more. I'll never see that Scripture the same again, and thank God that He's really set me free!!! LOL GLORY TO GOD!!

Father, thank You for the truth of Your Word and for HELPING us to learn what the context of Your Word is saying. HELP US God. We cannot walk in this life without You, or without Your wisdom. Thank You. I shall never again blame you for what the devil has instigated again. In Jesus' Name.

Take no thought SAYING

While I was listening to a ministry video yesterday online, I had this tool opened and just began to take notes on things that I could as quickly as I could type. That's what I posted yesterday, some notes of Mr. Charles Capps teaching on Mr. Copelands air time.

There were several things that really caught my attention, but the first one was....

TAKE NO THOUGHT SAYING....
Is what one translation says another...
Do not worry saying....
Therefore do not worry and be anxious saying.....
Therefore do not ye be busy, saying...

In the notes someplace I heard...
Thoughts come to us all the time, but they'll die unborn if we don't say them.

Hummm, take no thought s-a-y-i-n-g.
In the parable of the sower sows the word...we can sow either God's Word,
Someone else's word....
Our own words.

Word will be planted inside of us...they are all the time.
We speak word from our mouth...things that are out of habit...
Things to just keep conversation going...
Words of fear.....
Words of agreement with something or someone...
Words that we speak will and ARE planted into our hearts.

I was remembering the Scripture that says in Luke 6:45
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

We're told that out of the abundance of our heart our mouth speaks.
Not only that the seed of it is already sown and is producing in our lives...and is reinforced with what we speak.

If we understood the power of our words, because we're made in the image of God, God creates by speaking those things that are not as though they already were...we'd be awakened to the fact that what we say is very powerful...to produce evil and to produce good.

I don't want to have to go about in my life pulling up what I've planted and having to replant an entire crop. I mean, I can, I will and I do so often...but it's so much better to just plant the right crop, you know.

I like this a lot....
Thoughts come to us all the time, but they'll die unborn if we don't say them.

I ask YOU God to help me, help us to take NO THOUGHT AND SPEAK them that I'll will bring me and others harm, and that I'll have to go dig up and replant. I want to be the sower of YOUR WORD, I desire YOUR CROP.... In Jesus' Name.

Intent of the Word

I mentioned last week that there were some really good videos HERE
I took only a few very loose notes of todays presentation. Only about 20 minutes long....but oh so good.
Get on over there and listen to ALL of it. Is really good.
These notes are just a smidgen, and very loose, but I'm leaving them as they are ... just notes.

Intent of the Word.

If we sow good seed long enough it will choke out the thorns.
The kingdom of God...seek first the Kingdom of God and all these other things will be added unto you.
It's not just the Word or the care of this world...without the Word the other stuff is going to get in there.
God said it chokes the Word.
Matthew 6 where it's talking about the kingdom of God, he tells us how it enters in.
vs. 31...therefore take no thought SAYING.
He's telling us that the way we take a thought is by saying.
Thoughts come to us all the time, but they'll die unborn if we don't say them.

Take no thought saying.....

Faith always stops at the question mark.
What are we going to do.... the price of gas is past God's provision?

This wilderness experience is to make us stronger? Hey check out the scriptures, it didn't make Israel stronger....it killed them. And if we stay in it long enough, it'll kill us too.
The wilderness experience killed Israel.
The two that made it through there was strong when they got there. Joshua and Caleb said that they were well able...let's do it.
Because of the others, Joshua and Caleb we kept out for 40 years. Caleb was 80+ years old when they crossed over and was ready to take the mountain promised him. Wilderness experience doesn't make you more stronger, it's meant to destroy us...if we act on the Word THAT will make us stronger.
Jesus said that in adversity and when these things come, they fall away.
If God was the one causing the problems...if trials and tests made us stronger, we'd all be spiritual giants right now.

Don't speak things that are contrary to the Word of God. Because it allows you to take thought that doesn't belong to us....anxious thought.
God supplies all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

That's how things enter into our heart is by taking thought by saying....
Well I can already see that we don't have the money for blah blah blah......and sure enough they don't.
...because it's in your mouth and in your heart, and you are led by that information you planted in there to make wrong decisions. It won't be God that did it, it will be you taking the wrong thought and putting it in the garden, in the parable of the sower it says that the sower sows the word.

The intent of the Word...
Luke 18:1-5 If you take the wrong intent of the Scripture you can be crippled in your prayer life.
The widow and the unjust judge....have heard it preached wrong all my life.
...people are comparing God to this unjust judge. Just worry wart God and keep on praying....The judge was only troubled not wearied...
I will avenge her lest by her continual coming....she hadn't been continually coming yet. He knew the infliction in her voice....YOU AVENGE ME OF MY ADVERSARY...the judge knew what she was about and knew what she WOULD be doing if he didn't do something about it. She had not been to him repeatedly.

Shall not God avenge His own elect? He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of Man comes will He find faith upon the earth?

Trials and tests are not to perfect our faith.

John 9:1-2 Jesus and the fellow blind from birth.
Who sinned that he should be born blind. The Jews believed that you could sin in your mothers womb.
Jesus' answer was "neither", has this man sinned nor his parents. You have to determine from the context that it was not the parents sin or his sin that caused him to be blind.
People say he was born blind so God could heal him.
That the works of God should be manifest in him...if God's work is going to be manifest, I'm going to have to work it.

He made clay of the spit and anointed the mans eyes. Jesus said to wash in the pool of Saloam, when he washed, he came seeing. NOW the works of God is manifest. He wasn't blind so He could work the works of God. Jesus is not going to talk contrary to the Word. If the works of God is going to be manifest in him, I must work them.
Sin was not the key issue at all...it's the Works of God that is the key issue here.

This man also represents Israel, because they washed their own eyes. The washing of the water of the Word, when Israel does this they'll not be blind anymore.

He's not just ministering to just one man, He's also ministering to Israel in this passage and was a key for them to learn. Instead of centering up on healing,
First believe that cancer is NOT from God, and that it's NOT because of sin, this steals your faith
...we're bound up to it until we're loosed from it and get our eyes open, and the way you do that is bathe yourself in the Word and get loosed from it...and learn that it's the work of the devil and not of God and God is not the author of cancer.

A Personal Testimony

These are our youngest children. What a bunch of sweeties, eh? :) This picture is a few years old.

While they were yet small and one right behind the other, I had arthritis set into my knees, hands, fingers. I could not raise and lower myself from a sitting/laying position or tackle stairs without much pain. It was increasingly harder to manipulate my fingers without feeling the consequences.

I knew that my Grandma and all the other women in my family were/had/and did suffer with these symptoms. I kept hearing in my ear that it was just my turn, it's just a matter of genetics and just to buck up and get on with my life and learn to live with it.

My heart, on the other hand, cried out. NO! I had a family to raise, was in early years of my life.

I had a lot of symptoms to be saying NO! to. LOL

I called out to God, made use of His Word (WITH MY MOUTH), made use of the agreement of other believers...likeminded Believers, stood on God's Word for complete deliverance from this spirit named arthritis, and all the baggage he'd created to that point in my body.

It wasn't a day, a week, a month or even possibly within a year - plus - time....but the Word of God tells us that in patience we receive the promises of God.

We had moved out here to the Midwest, and I was sitting down in a pew at our church with one of our youngest in arms....and while I lowered myself I was astonished, and my breath was taken from me.

THERE WERE NO MORE SYMPTOMS, NO MORE PAIN in my body. I got up and down a few times, just to see the relief. It was indeed gone. I moved my hands and fingers, no pain.

I shot up out of my pew to offer praise and a testimony of what GOD HAD DONE FOR ME. I was not going to sit on that one!

It doesn't matter how l-o-n-g it takes before what we've asked God for, to manifest, does it? LOL I did keep the pressure of the Word of God upon those symptoms and kept my heart and mind refreshed and renewed to God's healing promises, calling out Him the author and FINISHER of my faith. LOL Thank God.

Everytime satan would come and whisper into my ear about my demise and that what a shame it is that I'll not be able to raise our children without agony...I asked God to remind me when those thoughts came, that it WASN'T from Him, so I could stop right then and rebuke them all, in Jesus' Name.

With all my heart, I rejoice that I do not have ANY symptoms of arthritis. Have not had for about 15 years now. Nor shall I for the rest of my life. I'm even enjoying my GRANDCHILDREN without pain... LOL HALLELUJAH!!!

God really did mean it when He told us that by the stripes of Jesus He took our sickness and disease. He meant it when He told us that by His stripes we WERE healed....and that He sent His Word to heal us and deliver us from all of our destructions.

Thank God.

Father, thank YOU for the integrity of Your Word. Thank You that YOU are trustworthy, Your Word is the beginning and end of our faith and will still be around when heaven and earth passes away. Lord, thank YOU for showing Yourself strong on our behalf. You DID tell us that You would that we all prosper and be in good health even as our souls prosper. Thank You that YOU are the SAME, yesterday, today and FOREVER. Help us to PROSPER in Your Word, in Jesus' Name.

HALLELUJAH!!!!

ONLY BELIEVE

This is Smith Wigglesworth. He is one of my favorite "generals" in God's army.

He moved with great power and compassion of God. He fed himself God's Word continuously, and THAT is what brought him great faith. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. It's been said that he didn't go much longer than 15 minutes at a time without pulling out a small bible from his coat pocket to read.

Since we're to be speaking and agreeing with what God says, if we don't KNOW what God has to say, we won't be speaking what it is He's said in His Word.....will we? :)

If we don't KNOW God's character, it is easy to assume what He wants we'll speak what we either see at hand or what we've been told or what we've assumed about Him and seems logical at the time. None of which produces faith or gets what God wants done.

Mr. Wigglesworth knew what God said, He was quick to agree with Him and was LED by God's Spirit. God was able to flow through Mr. Wigglesworth to get what HE wanted done. Many great signs and wonders by God.

This is an excerpt of a book by him..."SMith Wigglesworth Only Believe".

Jesus says, "Do not be afraid; only believe" (Mark 5:36). The people in whom God delights are the ones who rest upon His Word without wavering. God has nothing for the man who doubts, for "let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord" (James 1:7). Therefore, I would like us to get this verse deep down into our hearts, until it penetrates every fiber of our being: "Only believe!" We know that "all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26). "Only believe."

James 1:6-8 tells us
6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;
8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

GOD HELP US not to be doubleminded about Your Word. Thank You for reminding us to refer to YOU and to be steadfast and in agreement with YOU. In Jesus' Name.

Freed From the Bondage of Bulemia

I have a very dear friend that has been published in Living Stones.com.

The article begins with....

Gum-line cavities along the teeth, swollen salivary glands resembling the mumps, osteoporosis, either excessive hair growth or thinning hair, constant susceptibility to sickness, and the fear — the terrible fear often displayed as defensiveness — are just a few of the indicators that someone may be suffering from the eating disorder bulimia nervosa.

The remainder of the article may be found at: http://archive.livingstonesnews.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=979 You will enjoy reading about her DELIVERANCE ... she suffered with this for about 33 years. It's a miracle of God that she's even alive. LOL Thank God. In 1999 Vicki and her husband came to the Lord and she found out what God could do for her. Isn't that wonderful?

You'll enjoy the article.

God Bless You!!!

In the event that this link is not always made available, I'm bringing the article to this page.

For 33 years Vicki Surges was a slave to bulimia. But when Christ came into her life, she was freed, and the need to binge and purge was miraculously gone.
By Naomi Musch ,Living Stones News Writer

Gum-line cavities along the teeth, swollen salivary glands resembling the mumps, osteoporosis, either excessive hair growth or thinning hair, constant susceptibility to sickness, and the fear — the terrible fear often displayed as defensiveness — are just a few of the indicators that someone may be suffering from the eating disorder bulimia nervosa.

Vicki Surges of Duluth, Minn., battled the sickening cycles of bulimia for more than 30 years before turning her life over to Jesus Christ, who helped her break free from the addiction.
Vicki Surges of Duluth, Minn., is well acquainted with the symptoms. She was in bondage to bulimia for 33 years, trapped in a secret life of isolation that wobbled precariously between the euphoria of being told how good she looked and the absolute terror of being discovered.

Her fight began in 1966, shortly after the death of her mother.

Growing up in the Southern California movie star culture, Surges said she felt a constant pressure to be thin. Her family moved in circles with movie stars where Surges was often present, but it was her sister who was considered to be the beauty queen. Surges remembers being told often, “If only you were thin, you’d look pretty.”

“I remember being told that so many times ... ‘If only you were thin, if only. ...’” Surges said, realizing now that she wasn’t overly heavy at the time.

Surges was only 16 years old when she took her first nightmarish steps into the darkness of bulimia. After overeating one evening, she accidentally threw up and thought, “This is cool. I can eat as much as I want and throw up.”

Following her own advice, she proceeded to drop 30 pounds while going through an elaborate routine of binging and purging to lose the weight. She even stopped eating for a while as people told her, “You look great,” thus feeding her dangerous habit.

“This is better than I thought,” she said at the time.

Eventually, she tried going on the original Atkins diet, but got very sick. She also learned during a urine lab test in school that she was in a state of ketosis, “But no one noticed I was starving,” she said.

However, Surges discovered that she enjoyed food too much to remain anorexic, and so her secret life grew into a decades-long pattern of binging and purging to the tune of many thousands of calories a day. What started out as something she thought she could control quickly took control of her.

“I was throwing up 40 to 50 times a day, without exaggeration,” she said, “sometimes every three or four minutes.”

Even while married, she managed to hide her bulimia.

“I ate tremendous amounts of food, enough for 10 people,” she said.

Every day she ate a huge steak dinner. She also would stop by different restaurants on alternating days to buy herself five orders of onion rings and 10 tacos for lunch, pretending to be buying food for a group.

Her biggest fear, she said, was not being able to be near a bathroom or convenient place to purge after binge eating. During a period of time in the 1980s when she performed in a number of movie roles, Surges remembers being at a star’s home and stopping up the toilet with food. Despite the embarrassment, she had to be near a bathroom constantly. “It was my biggest fear not to be,” she said.

Surges and her husband adopted two children, and she continued to live the lie. She pretended to live a normal life, but in her bondage couldn’t even bear to have friends over.

“I was terrified of people coming over unannounced,” she said. “I might have eaten something which I’d have to keep down.”

She was not a believer in Jesus Christ at the time, so she decided to try therapy. Two Christian psychiatrists tried to offer her spiritual help, but she said, “I wasn’t in a place to listen to the spiritual side yet.”

After divorcing her first husband, she came down with giardiasis, an illness of the intestine, and lost another 20 pounds.

“I went into the hospital and was dangerously low on electrolytes, close to a heart attack,” Surges said. She was given fluids and put some of the weight back on. She was amazed that she was still alive.

Surges married again and confessed to her new husband that she had an eating disorder. Still, whenever he asked her how she was doing, she continued to lie and told him things were “fine.”

“I was better,” she said. “I was only throwing up five to 10 times a day.”

But Surges said that things are never “fine” for a bulimic.

During her pregnancies, Surges discovered that if she worked very hard at it, she could keep the bulimia somewhat under control.

“It was the same when I was nursing,” she said, noting that it was probably a sense of protection for the baby that helped her try harder then.

Then, in 1999 at age 46, she found that another baby was...

...on the way, and about that time she and her husband both became Christians.
Suddenly Surges found that God was doing amazing things in her life. Her marriage had been close to breaking apart, but after she and her husband turned to Jesus, “Our marriage was strengthened.”

And that wasn’t all. For the first time since her battle with bulimia began, Surges found that she no longer had to fight to hold the bulimia at bay.

“There’s no other explanation,” she said. “God took the desire (for binging and purging) away.”

Joy echoed from Surges’ voice as she said, “The biggest difference is that I’m never afraid. I don’t feel like I started living life until I was saved.”

God rescued Surges from bulimia after a wretched 33-year struggle.

She’s had 27 root canals, has osteoporosis and occasionally needs checkups on her esophagus. Yet, she’s thankful that she’s alive.

“I have no idea why God healed me, other than He wasn’t finished with me,” she said.

She once struggled with guilt over the many thousands of grocery dollars she spent on wasted food, but reminds herself that God has told her, “That’s all behind you.”

Surges said that the signs are there if someone is bulimic. She notes that besides some of the outward physical characteristics, it’s a huge clue if someone is excusing themselves often during dinner or going to the bathroom or outside. And, she warns of bulimics, “everybody will deny it,” so defensiveness is another clue.

Strangely, alcoholics can most easily relate to bulimics because the cravings and lifestyles are similar. Both share a secret life — a double life. Yet, quitting bulimia is different, Surges pointed out.

“You can live without alcohol, but you can’t live without food,” she said. “You can’t just not be around it. You have to learn how to eat again.”

For Surges, that meant changing her eating patterns and using caution, even though she hasn’t been tempted to binge or purge since 1999.

She says that a cure for bulimia is pretty rare. Therefore, she urges people who have an eating disorder to turn to God.

“He puts people there to help us, too,” she said. “Talk to someone who’s been there. Don’t deny it. Get help.”

Surges said that when she talks to others about bulimia, they often want to hear her say that she took a pill and it all went away.

“But that isn’t the case,” she said. “God did it, and for some people that’s scary.”

As for herself, she said, “It’s all about God and what He has done.”

Seated In Heavenly Places

I have a fragrance that I wear that reminds me of the throne room of God. Every time I'm there, I smell this and it's WONDERFUL. It's the fragrance of gardenias, so I enjoy wearing it, and smelling it wherever I can.

There are a Scripture that I want to share....

Ephesians 1:20 Which He wrought in Christ, when He raised Him (Jesus) from the dead, and set Him (Jesus) at His (Fathers) own right hand in the heavenly places

Ephesians 1:3 - Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places IN CHRIST.

Isn't that WONDERFUL that the Lord has blessed us with ALL spiritual blessings in heavenly places? WOOO HOOO! Are you IN CHRIST? It doesn't take much if you're not. Believing in your heart that Jesus is the Son of God and that God raised Him from the dead and confessing it with your mouth. Choosing a life change that will take you from the kingdom of darkness into THE KINGDOM OF LIGHT! Thank God, He at that time, takes out the old spirit and places in us a NEW one....without us skipping a heartbeat. We're made NEW. Man, that is bigger than my head, but my heart cries out with thanksgiving for it.

The Bible doesn't make any sense. It's not suppose to. It makes FAITH (Romans 10:17-Faith comes by hearing the Word of God). It doesn't work for debate, philisophical, hermanutical sense, for our mind. It's designed to make faith so we can believe the unbelieable and receive the impossible.

I'm remembering a place over in God's Word where He's told us:

Luke 11:2 tells us:
And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.

GOD'S WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN???? I've heard that Scripture for all my life, but it didn't DAWN on me what it was speaking about until not many years ago.
Hummmm, what does God have in Heaven.....better yet, what does He NOT have? :)
There's no sickness and disease in Heaven.
There's no strife in Heaven.
There's no lack or need in Heaven.
There's no destruction in Heaven.
There's no killing or death in Heaven.
There's no thievry of any kind in Heaven.

Thank God.

Father THANK YOU, for Your provision for us, IN CHRIST JESUS. In the Name of Jesus. Help us to KNOW that.

Thank God!!!

I'm enjoying pictures of flowers. Can you tell I'm ready for some warmer weather?
We had a few very warm days last week. This morning we woke up to some clouds and chilling temperatures, I wore my winter coat while stepping out. Just don't want it to get too cold. One of the boys planted some grass seed to thicken up the lawn. It's going on 11p.m. and only 41* outside, so hopefully it will not get much colder outside.

We had stupendous service this morning at church. Gee, how does ANYONE EXPLAIN the presence and working of God? I've been basking in it all day and all night long.

There was a sale on chicken breasts here in town a few days ago for 89 cents a pound, so I ordered 100 pounds to put into the freezer. A good find. I've been cooking some lunch for tomorrow for the fellows that head out for work in the morning. Smells good while cooking with BBQ sauce.

Pat head out to another part of the state for the week. Thought about traveling with him this week, but I have things to do to get ready for this coming weekend. RESURRECTION SUNDAY! YES!!!

THANK YOU GOD that Jesus came for us...and chose to be obedient to death.
THANK YOU GOD that You called for Jesus from hell after He DEFEATED satan!
We have much to be THANKFUL for all the time, not just during Easter, but it's especially nice to spend the Day REJOICING, isn't it?

Romans 8:11
But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

Kept By God's Power-Smith Wigglesworth

John 17:12
While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept.

Scripture reading: John 17

There are evil powers, but Jesus is greater than all evil powers. There are tremendous diseases, but Jesus is the Healer. No case is too hard for Him. The Lion of Judah will break every chain. He came to relieve the oppressed and to set the captive free (Luke 4:18). He came to bring redemption, to make us as perfect as man was before the Fall.

People want to know how to be kept by the power of God. He will contend for your body. When you are saved, satan will come around and say, "See, you are not saved." The devil is a liar.

I remember the story of the man whose life was swept and put in order. The evil power had been swept out of him. But the man was not filled with the Holy Spirit. If the Lord heals you, you dare not remain unresponsive to His Spirit. The evil spirit came back to that man, found his house swept, and took seven others worse than himself and dwelt there. The last stage of that man was worse than the first. (See Matthew 12:43-45) Be sure to get filled with God. Get an Occupier. Be filled with the Spirit.

God's power cannot come out of you unless it is within you. We must have all inward confidence and knowledge that we are God's property, bought and paid for by the precious blood of Jesus. God wants you to know how to claim the vicgtory and shout in the face of the devil and say, "Lord, it is done." (See Revelation 21:6.)

God has a million ways of undertaking for those who go to Him for help. He has deliverance for every captive. He loves you so much that He even says, "Before they call, I will answer" (Isaiah 65:24). Don't turn Him away.

Thought for today: Every position of grace into which you are led - forgiveness, healing, any kind of deliverance - will be contested by satan.

Time for glasses

Several months ago, I saw that I needed glasses for some clarity while I drive at night. Not bad for a 56 year old Grandmother, eh? Not wearing glasses until now? :) But, it makes me feel safer with them, while driving, particularly at night.

After I had them a few days some of our grandchildren came over. Steven our 10 year old boy took a look at me and then said .... "Pamaw, NOW you look like a Grandma!" :) That was too cute. So whenever I place them on, I know that I will be looking like a Grandma, for sure, because Steve said so. :)

Emily is putting some chicken breast meat in the oven to bake. YUM!!!
While we were in Colorado Springs not long ago, I found some spice at Sam's that sounded yummy, called Rosemary and Garlic. It's soo sooo good. It's made by Tone's and has some onion, garlic, rosemary, paprika, red peppers in it. I've used it to bake with, on chicken salad and just about whateve I thought I can, even some veggies. Am going to be using it in some green salad tonight.

Tomorrow one of our Grandsons is having his #2 birthday party. I need to get his gift wrapped. His Mommy is having dinner for the family and is making lasagna, sounds like a treat. His grandpa will be working and not able to come....again, but he'll get to sign the card, that Ethan will not be able to read now, AND see the gift which he WILL be able to play with. I need to find a bag with a drawstring bag to keep his gift in so they won't get strewn across the house after playing with it.

I heard a small dog bark in our front yard, which is unusual. There's a leash law here in town. Emma went outside and was telling me what a CUTE dog was out there. I didn't want to see it. Told her that I did not want her to be forming an attachment, to forget it. :)

This has been a very nice day. Had a Bible Study this morning that was GREAT, and I'm still chewing on it. The gals said we should go back tomorrow and do some more. Right now it's just Thursday a.m.'s We cannot get enough encouragement from God's Word, can we?

Father I ask You to HELP US feed on Your Word. Help us to have thankful hearts and to walk in praise in our days and nights. That just helps clear the path between You and us....we all need that, every day of our lives. In Jesus' Name.

Mom and Pop Winens

This is a very young picture of Mr. and Mrs. David Winens. Better known to Christian circles as Mom and Pop Winens. They married in 1953, and Mrs. Winens chose to leave their own musical asparations to raise their 10 children. As their children were growing they backed them in their own endeavors.

A number of their children have made their mark in the music industry, the most widely known are CeCe and BeBe Winens.

Last night, a friend of mine phoned me to say that I needed to get plugged into TBN. She' knows that I don't generally watch that station, but said that it was worth my time last night. I was pleasently surprised. Mr. and Mrs. Winens was being interviewed and they had a lot to say that touched my heart.

They are up in years and have a very good testimony and can PRAY THE HOUSE DOWN for sure.

Some of the things that Mr. and Mrs. Winens were both testifying to was:

-Young people are not taught how to dress these days and come to the house of God dressed immodestly.
-They said that their children did not go to a childrens church to be entertained and fed, but that they all sat with their parents and heard the same gospel and got saved under the same gospel.
-Their children learned how to respect the house of God.
-Mom said that their children were not going to get to heaven by singing.
-They said that people have removed the "old landmarks", and we're warned not to.
-They were calling for holiness and sanctification in the body of Christ.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've heard, in recent months, "ministers" and "evangelists" that are widely known, telling their people that folks will not get saved the same way that we did, times have changed. The old way is not going to work in these times.
These are "ministers" that are well known and have great influence among the general public and the Body of Christ.
I didn't buy it then and I don't buy it now. It IS the SAME Word of God, the SAME Holy Spirit that brings conviction by the Spirit of God and there is NEVER going to be a better way to God. :)
I appreciated what Mr. and Mrs. Winans had to say. It struck chords in my heart and bore witness to my spirit. My heart cries out for holiness and sanctificaton. Setting ourselves apart unto the Lord and knowing the difference between the holy and the profane.
Father, I ask You to HELP US! Help us to distinguish between the Holy and the profane. Help us to have Your Word to quicken our hearts when we hear things that do not line up with Your Word. Help us to HONOR the instructions You've given us in Your Word, and to be LED BY YOUR SPIRIT. In the Name of Jesus.
Being Filled with God's Spirit
This is a very brief portion of a book I'm reading - "Smith Wigglesworth Only Believe."
An excerpt of what I've read today.
During the time of the early church, the disciples were hard-pressed in all areas. The things of the natural life could not be attended to, and many were complaining about the neglect of their widows. The disciples therefore decided on a plan which was to choose seven men to do the work - men who were "full of the Holy Spirit." What a divine thought! No matter what kind of work was to be done, however menial it may have been, the person chosen had to be filled with the Holy Spirit. The plan of the church was that everything, even the things of the natural life, had to be sanctified unto God, for the church had to be a Holy Spirit church.
Beloved, God has never ordained anything less! There is one thing that I want to stress in these meetings; that this, no matter what else may happen, first and foremost, I want to empohasize these questions: "Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed?" (Acts 19:2 KJV). "Are you filled with divine power?" This is the heritage of the church, to be so clothed with power that God can lay His hand on any member at any time to do His perfect will.
Father, I ask You to HELP US to be FILLED with Your Spirit, in the Name of Jesus.
Thank YOU!
A Good Celebration
This is a proof of a picture of my husbands Mom and Dad. Good picture.
This is a picture of Pat's folks, and he and his siblings from left to right, in birthorder.
The celebration went really well. There was all of the East Coast family and six of the Midwest family there. There are 24 of us in all here, so the ones that went represented the rest of us.
My Father-in-law is 89 and Mom is 87 this year. They enjoy relatively good health, have their sharp wits about them. The family has the privelage of being a part of their parents lives at this time in THEIR lives. Not too many 60 year olds have the benefit of going and doing with both of their parents, do they? :)
I've been hearing from the girls back East and our daughters that went out, and it warms the heart to know that Mom and Dad's family celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary in such a way that honored them so.
One of my sisters-in-law took some of the old family pictures that her husband gathered and made a power point presentation with music that was popular in Mom and Dads younger years, and there was not a dry eye in the room.
The youngest sister, Lou, that just married last month....she and her family will be traveling out late this summer so she can introduce her new husband to the rest of us out here. FUN eh? :)
Have talked about this event for a while and wanted to share a couple of pictures we've been offered to consider for purchase. It's good to lay eyes on them all.
As family members they can't be beat.
Proverbs 10:22 tells us:
The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
Thank You Lord!
I'm reading a book entitled "Smith Wigglesworth Only Believe" - one of the quotes I wish to share from it is: The place of being filled with the Holy Spirit is where the Believer binds the power of satan.
From chapter 1 - The Dispensation of the Holy Spirit.
Moth Drawn To The Flame
We've all heard the addage of the moth being drawn to a flame. I was told once that during any "moth season", and we have them in the house and CAN'T get rid of them...just put a bowl of SUDSY water near a light and it will draw the moth to the shiny bubbles and they'll succomb to the water and die.
We have an enemy of our soul, our lives. his job is to draw us into places of our lives that will snare us and the END of those assignments is to bring death to us, both spiritually and naturally. he is a stealer, killer and destroyer. That's what John 10:10 tells us.
It seems that a lot of people that call themselves Christians are doing all they can to find out HOW CLOSE they can come to "sin" and the "world" and live and get by with it. INSTEAD we're instructed to walk away from sin (and when need be, run from it) and not conform ourselves to the world.
The Word of God instructs us that we are to be able to distinguish between the holy and the profane....nothing about living as close as we can to the profane and get by with it. eh? :) Leviticus 10:9,10.
There's much to be said about what God tells us about holiness and living lives that are set apart unto Himself.
I Peter 1:16 tells us....Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
Hebrews 12:14 says: Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.
II Corinthians 6:17 gives us this instruction...Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you
II Corinthians 7:1 - Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
I Thess. 3:13 says: To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
Phl 3:12 says: Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
Paul told us in Romans 12:1,2
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Gee, I don't know, from what I've always seen in God's Word is that we're suppose to be doing ALL WE CAN to distinguish between the holy and profane.
Not talking about being a "holier than thou" kind of person, or being a snub to those that do not live like the Word instructs us as Believers...just talking about living like we really are accountable to God's Word and walking like we believe it, and that our obedience to Him will make a difference in our lives.
That make sense?
None of us are to be living and walking aimlessly where any attraction from our enemy - the devil - will draw us into a lifestyle or behavior that will, after it's had it's work in our lives, bring destruction.
Even more than WWJD.....what about
-HOW CAN I PLEASE YOU LORD.
-AM I BRINGING HONOR TO YOU THROUGH MY LIFE AND A GOOD TESTIMONY TO YOUR WORK IN ME?
O FATHER, HELP US!! I ask You to bring us to places where we will humble ourselves before you....NOT seek out our own pleasure and dictates of our own hearts, but help us to be YOUR SERVANTS. Help us to find the greatest pleasure in our lives in PLEASING YOU. In the Name of Your Son Jesus.
