More Than A Ticket Out of Hell

Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
Isaiah 53:4, 5

In this passage Isaiah was speaking prophetically about all that Jesus would be doing for us from the cross.

The six thing God knew would need to be laid upon Jesus, because we, as humans, do not have the capacity to deal with them with our own flesh hands.

1) Griefs
2) Sorrows
3) Transgressions (individual acts of sin)
4) Iniquity (The state of being without God - Godless)
5) Peace
6) Healing

The same sacrifice Jesus made with all the beatings and crucifixion and being raised from the dead for our salvation, bought us deliverance of all the above....and bought us His peace.

Actually Romans 10:13 tells us:
"for whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."

The word "saved" is from the Greek word "sozo"
"sozo" means:
- healed
- safe from suffering
- kept safe
- delivered
- rescued
- taken out of destruction, danger and peril.
- restored health

Being saved is not just our ticket out of a devils hell...it's all the above.
Everything that God knew we needed.
Jesus took care of it all at one time.  While He was hanging on the cross, He said, "It is finished."
John 19:30 - So when Jesus had received the sour wine He said, it is finished, bowing His head He gave up His spirit.

Jesus knew full well all He was dying for, and was purchasing for us.
ALL OF IT.
Not just getting Fathers family back, but everything humanity needs.

Remember when Jesus was teaching the boys how to pray?
Luke 11:2-4
So He said to them, "When you pray, say:

Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us day by day our daily bread.
And forgive us our sins,
For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one."

Is there grief and sorrow in Heaven?
Is there sickness and disease in Heaven?
Is there any lack of peace in Heaven?
Is there iniquity and transgressions in Heaven?

We won't need relief from these things in Heaven.....we need them NOW.

No matter how much we may try, we cannot humanly relieve ourselves of any of these things.
Jesus paid the same price for them all, at the same time He bought our ticket out of hell, and I receive them all the same way I receive "salvation."
I believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that God raised Him from the dead, confessed it to Him, myself and to all the hosts of hell, and was ushered into God's family, making Him my LIFE.....not fitting Him into my life.

Whenever I see a promise in God's Word for His people.....I do the same thing that I did when I turned my life over to God.  It's really that simple.  He made it simple enough for a child to believe, didn't He?  Only Believe.

Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes."
Mark 9:23

"Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!"
Mark 9:24
